I just wrote a tutorial on
How to reveal colors of objects in GIMP.It takes advantage of the "Color" layer mode in GIMP. I just thought of this last night, and wondered what are some ways "Color" mode can be used. And surely enough after i tested, your color mode can be any color as long as it's all the RGB values are the same it'll work.
I found a similar tutorial by molly here
Very Basic Tutorial For Layer MasksBoth these tutorials achieve the same purpose but use different methods. (And i have a link back, from my tutorial back to gimpchat.com at bottom of my tutorial).
My tutorial will probably show up (on Google search once the google bots are done indexing pages if they ever get to it) for people who search for "revealing color" or "color accenting"
So i link back to gimchat.com is to have more exposure for people who are searching.
My ultimate goal is to increase number of gimp users so we have busier forums (Obviously busy forums are more fun and we have more people to learn from share with).

for reading.
PS: to my surprise, GIMP isn't as well known as i expected. I chatted with a guy from Albania and mentioned GIMP and he asked me what it was. I was shocked to know that he doesn't know about GIMP, provided he's already a php coder. I just always assumed that people who code know about GIMP. That was a completely wrong assumption
