This idea is totally useless (but I thought it would be fun to see).

Yes, all the cool sites/apps have such a random avatar generator, usually working off the user's name/email.

Useful to have on site/app (thousands of avatars to generate). For use by an individual in an interactive way, less so, unless said individual is trapped in a very boring meeting (ok, let's see who will have his/her name converted to something shaped like a p*n*s.).

If you want cool colors, forget randomness, unless the randomness is just picking a palette in a prefedined set.
