A buddy of mine sent me a video (7Mb wmv) which I said to myself, now this one's a wow. I did find a similar one (not the one sent to me) on youtube and you guys have got to see this plane in action to believe it. Who needs helicopters? Don't think a human being could withstand the accelerations though. lol

:)

Thats crazy! Does it use a regular propeller?

Any idea how big that room it is flying in?

It's an electric engine. As you can see, the propeller is encased in the wings and fuselage, very well protected. Huge flaps/wing ratio...

I've once seen a similar demo with a more classical model plane with a gas engine. The guy literally just settles his plane on thin air at the beginning, and grabs it by the fuselage at the end, while it flies suspended under the propeller (and you have to very very confident to put your hand that close to a spinning "open" propeller)

Very cool video. :)
I wonder if it has two sets of electric motors. One in the back and one in the front.
Still it would take an expert to keep it stable in midair like that.

Pretty awesome.
The Harrier on steroids.. :)
