using a graphics tablet

What do you use your graphics tablet for ? Do you use it outside GIMP ? Is it better than a mouse for you ?

I only regularly use my graphics tablet for artwork. The mouse have some distinct advantages for regular GUI use I think - notably it stays where it is when you let go of it. I mostly use my keyboard for my computing normally, so that is a good quality.

The tablet's great for making digital signatures though - I've had to sign a few online contracts lately, and it's very nice to be able to do so with a pen.

When I had Intuos 3 I was able to replace mouse completely, gaming excluded.
So far the "One by Wacom" has served mostly as a vodka bottle platter, but I try to sketch with it now and then.

Sorry to hear about your "One by Wacom" "coaster"

I have a Wacom Volito2 from 2005 -ish. Works better now using (k)ubuntu 20.04 than for a long time. Back in 'Mepis linux days I went a year (2006 ?) with it not working at all. Wacom was missing from the linux kernel

..and now KDE has the tablet 'tools' back again. I had to compile them for (k)ubuntu 18.04

I am no artist by any means, but great fun for a bit of messing around / sketching.
