I laid a USB flash drive on top of my open laptop near the front edge and the magnet that holds the lid closed grabbed it.

Will it delete/corrupt the contents of the flash drive?

No, it will not. The electronics within the pendrive are not affected by static magnetic fields, only rapidly changing ones.
