Pardon my ignorance, but what is the purpose of this site? I saw no mission statement or explanation. Did see the great looking perf metal background and you've probably guessed by now from my many posts and tutorials that.....

But look at that sig Drac, you've got an instant winner! What you do to create the outline in metal? Stroke it than run a gradient overlay with the 4 bar grad?

Whaddaya mean "instant winner". What's the site for? Just for artists to compete with their graphix creations? Sounds like fun but sometimes you stumble onto sites while searching for other stuff and it really needs something to tell you what the site is all about. The only clue is the header. Not trying to pick just offering a tip. To sell anything you have to satisfy a need. State the need and then how your site satisfies that need. (not in so many words but you get the idea) Shooting from the hip and also asuming I understand the purpose of your site correctly, maybe something like

"Welcome to Gfx Wars, the perfect place for those budding artists, graphics designers and ...... to post their creations and compete for ....."

Well you get the idea. Just some sort of statement to peak someone's interest. I honestly had no clue what the site was about when I first got there. Not being the sharpest tack in the box, there is that of course.

As far as the sig goes, I generally don't use the stroke method. Just create a gray layer and select shrink to get the border then I use one of my variable bar gradients that uses whatever your FG/BG is set to so I can get subtle shades of gray then apply one of my "chrome metal" curves presets to make whatever type of chrome I need, soft and brushed looking or highly polished. The curves presets only work for grayscale images. If I need colors, I use a color layer, and set the layer mode to whatever looks best. One of my Metal Wurx tutorials coming up will go into this in a lot more detail. I think I have about four or five others to post before that one.

It just seems like your trying to get something fun going, however it also sounds like your trying to drive some people to your site rather than here. Kinda like going in to a club and saying "hey you should go here, its better," or am I just reading the general feeling wrong?
