These were all taken with my camera lens held closely to the telescopic lens. Pretty neat.

Nice! I did the same with a friend's telescope. Really had to avoid CA when holding up a camera to an eyepiece.

My camera is a DXG-566V HD Slim (5.0 Megapixel) > I really wish i had a nicer camera that was this slim type for shots like these.

I don't have a telescope but I thought I might try my tripod, long shutter time ad raw format and see how that works.

It's pretty unbelievable how fast the Moon and other heavenly bodies jump out of view because of the Earths rotation.
In a telescope you can actually sense the Earths rotation speed.

Yes, I've put my tripod up before and had it pointed right at the moon, and in 5 minutes it's gone. The best results I've had so far have been with my camcorder because it has a really long zoom. I have high hopes with using raw images.

I've always had raw but didn't use it much, at first because at first there weren't too many things to read it and later because I foolishly didn't see the use for it. It's interesting that it's raw but only 72 ppi and has a smaller filesize than tiff and yet so much detail can be gotten from it. I did a test shot with it a while back, I took a pic of a small grape tomato from about 15 feet away. I zoomed a small tomato up to fill a screen and the quality was amazing.

I have yet to figure out RAW on my camera. I must read the manual some day.
