Hey, you guys from Germany might get some visitors. :bigthup

After seeing this, it would be worth the trip to just live in that bubble until spring.

Cold weather getting you down? Had enough of winter storms? Why flock to Florida when you can get away to... Germany?

That's right folks -- welcome to Germany's only beach resort you can visit in February.

Located about 37 miles of Berlin, in Krausnick, a municipality of Brandenburg, the "Tropical Islands" indoor beach resort occupies a former Soviet military airship hangar.

At the resort, guests are treated to a tropical holiday experience, complete with a beach, lagoons, waterfalls, exotic flowering gardens, restaurants, water slides, evening shows, saunas, an adventure park and overnights arrangements ranging from tents on the beach to luxury accommodations.

The resort opened in 2004 and is considered to be the biggest free-standing hall in the world, measuring at 1,181 feet long, 689 feet wide and 351 feet high. Just to give you an idea -- It is so big; it could house the Statue of Liberty, which is good news for her, because after Nemo -- she could use a warm vacation.

Yes, that's very cool.

My father's side were German immigrants and my mother's side were Irish immigrants. I'd love to visit Germany and Ireland, just to get a better sense of my family heritage and my explore my roots. I've done a lot of traveling inside the states but have never traveled outside of the U.S. borders.
