This doesn't the barbecue story but it's worth retelling.
This morning I took Trixie, my dog out on the leash. To my left was our combination basil and rose garden. There was a rather large rabbit in that area feasting on my basil, the villain. Trixie saw the rabbit and the rabbit saw her, this meeting did not go well. Trixie lunged and since she is a pretty big black lab it was painful because I didn't expect it. Simultaneously, the rabbit jumped in the air and took off running in the direction it's feet hit the ground. Unfortunately, that direction was across my porch and right at me.
I had just recovered from the lunge when the panicked rabbit ran smack into my foot. I should mention that it was early and I had my shorts on but no shoes. This knocked the rabbit on it's back and left 4 little bloody scratches on my foot from it's feet. It was one of those stop action moments in time, everything froze. The rabbit, now on it's back looked up at me and I looked down at it, our eyes met, and there was a very obvious oh $%#&$@!! looks on it's eyes. It immediately rolled to it's feet and darted across the rest of my porch to hide safely in the Lilac bush. The whole experience was traumatic, The rabbit was terrorized, I had a bloody foot (which can be bad for a diabetic) and sore shoulder, and Trixie felt cheated because something came and left her domain with it's life.

At least it seemed funny to me.

Na, rabbits are very clean. It wasn't a dangerous situation, just funny. I'm around animals every day, none of mine bite but they sometimes scratch by accident.

Normally, some microseconds after being hit by the rabbit, you should have been hit by a dog chasing the rabbit.

You've been very lucky.

The dog isn't that smart, sadly, and yes, rabbits, like rats are continuously giving themselves baths.

I've had four people on facebook tell me exactly the same thing. I think the poor rabbit would b too embarrassed.

Like Willy said if that were my dog I would have been way across the lawn. (My dog not his.)

My dog is a puppy and runs VERY fast. She's also very dim. she chases plastic bags that end up in our yard. Don't ask.

People says that because they noticed rabbits don't wear glasses.

Imagine if there was something there.

I love personal stories like this. It gives Gimp Chat a family feel to it.

Very cool story, Gms9810!

Even though i don't even know the first name of anyone here or anything else about them I consider this my home and friends more or less. That's why I bring my wacky off the wall problems with linux here rather than Linux forums. This is a very strange statement from me, because I've always been a loaner my whole life. I'm hoping for this environment for my forum but it's new and only has a few members at the present. I had one before but I didn't promote it. This time I submitted it to google and yahoo, made some business cads to put in strategic places, have friends passing out cards and fliers and my wife submitted it to stumble upon so I"m curious to see if it takes off.

You could put a link to your website in your signature. Or even make your signature image a clickable link to your website.

:lol That is, if it's not a site selling stuff. Could be construed as spam.

I doubt that anyone here would be interested in it. I used to have a forum about Xara but it's impossible to compete with talk graphics in that subject so i eventually scrapped the project.
