I started another discussion here because it is off topic.
As to your last comment on Becky's card, yes - multiples. My children said a long time after the fact, they despised being called 'the triplets' especially away from home. Instead of by name. They wanted people to realise they were individual people and not 'one'.

sallyanne: i can well imagine! must be even harder for them because they're triplets, that's more unusual than being twins and people will always remember them by the fact that they're triplets. one of my uncles had twelve children and people in the small town where we all grew up wouldn't bother to learn my cousins' names, they just said: "hey, you one of those twelve kids..." - it's the same mechanism and my cousins hated it.
how old are your children today? did they have any special strategy to make people see them as individuals?

lol, while on the other side of the coin, I have identical twin cousins, and everyone calls them 'the twins', or twin Peggy, or twin Carmen. They even call themselves that and seem to enjoy the fact that they are referred to as 'one'. They have never seemed to mind sharing an identity, while also having their individual identity. I do think that it's nice to treat all as they prefer, as when a twin or triplet likes to be treated separately.

True 2-ton:- I had 2 girls and 1 boy and the girls like to think of themselves as twins (Weird huh?)
anmal:- They will be 33 this year. The girls now keep their hair different. One likes it dark brown while the other likes hers natural, blonde. (They were both originally blondes).
Strategy? Not that I recall. Only what I told 2-ton. We on the other hand always (while they were little) on most occasions dressed them in their own special colours so as not to mix them up. The only way to tell the girls apart was an under the clothes identity.

sallyanne: that's funny, the girls thinking of themselves as twins. did they try to fool you by changing clothes now and then? i know some girls who were identical twins and did this all the time -just one of the perks of being identical twins, i guess, being able to confuse everyone around you :).
