Mac zipped file

This is the same thing that happened to both Mahvin and me. Notice the files sizes are zero bytes. Rod even tried the Window's version of Stuffit expander without success. My guess is that only the latest commercial version of Stuffit will open that archive. Either that, or the archive is corrupt.

GnuTux: But Akky opened it, so I think your first comment is probably the most likely. Unless of course, we can get someone with the most recent version of Stuffit to test the latter theory.

@akky...so tell me, how did you open that file and extract the hearts???? I cannot find any program in my mac that looks like it can open zip files.

I've subscribed to that site for a few years now gathering a lot of things...brushes etc and written a tutorial on there how to install the brushes on GIMP...guess I been using GIMP longer than I estimated....LOL

Made a stab at it with a wee bit of noise and a white semiopaque overlay.

Good luck with that. I've came to the conclusion that Stuffit sux and have removed it from my computer.

I'm sticking with .zip, .bzip, .gzip, .z and .rar, ignoring pretty much anything else. :mrgreen:

Just another control freak reason why I never will buy a MAC. I hate the proprietary nonsensical standards that stiffles any reasonable persons ability to get something done.

Once in a while i run across a file that's been stuffed with this program so i will hang on to it for a while.
Seems like every time i uninstall a program the next day i need it. :lol

I would also suggest that peeps who post compressed archives on the Internet should be using the least proprietary and most transportable formats available. Windows, MAC and Linux all have built-in or free utilities which handle at minimum: zip, gzip, or bzip.

I think they should be a multi standard zip instead of a specific one, but I have to laugh at what lule said, youhave no idea the amount of things which IU cant open..I think everything should be useable on all computers...in the beginning I couldnt even open a word document. people would sent me stuff in emaila nd I couldnt read it or see it....mac now has a function built in to it with which you can zip files, the only reason I haver stuffit is to open those pc files which wont open without it so I dunno what to think. the .rar files are a pest for me..all pc files but I need stuffit to open them
