@ lylejk , are you talking of virtual machine ?
If so that is my next step on this laptop ,also because my favorite 3D fractal program is only at 32 bit but i have 8 giga ram...

so in theory with also a virtual machine of 3 GB i could support 2 M3D running simultaneously each sucking 2-3GB ram
Well , it should support well when no other programs running , as when i take breaks for eating shopping or sleeping

YUP Just reinstalled GIMP ...it is working now ! :yes

Hey PC; with Virtual Box, I even have a working 64-bit Ubuntu and works fast on my aging dual processor AMD (http://www.gigabyte.com/products/produc ... 34&dl=1#ov ). I only have 6Gs of RAM since at that time I couldn't afford more, but it's still works fine for me. Typing this message in an XP VM (use VMs as sandboxes to protect my main host OS). Been running VMs religiously since upgrading to Win7 back when it was first offered. VMs is just the way to go and Virtualbox is free for personal use.

BUT what happen to gmic ? i just reinstalled gimp but many filters have a broken preview.

Virtual Machine On Windows >> still needed to be dependent on Microsoft >> Microsoft wins again!
Also, VM is not the best way to test GNU/Liunx to report problems (most hardware/drivers are emulated)

Luckily the fight is more equal in Tablets and SmartPhones... :hehe

Well i start from Windows i never said i want install virtual machines only in windows !
Again Windows is phase 1 of a multiboot ...
