My desktop computer has Windows7 on a separate hard drive that came with my computer. A Windows7 disk also came with it. (Dell)
Question: Is it possible to install my Windows7 onto my laptop that now has Windows XP?
I have been told different answers to this and one is that I own the disk so I should be able to put in on another one of my computers. Do anyone know any more about this issue?

as far as I know, each licence is strictly connected to a specific computer

Ok, thanks dinasset. I might have known. I guess Dell probably made it so it wouldn't install on a Toshiba. Drat
EDIT:
Just looked up my DELL disk and sure enough, that is what it says on it.
Quote:
Use this DVD only to reinstall the operating system on a DELL PC

This just told me that this is the last Dell I buy.
