Your quite right Tux, very similar resemblance of styles in both artists work. It seem as though they may have had the same kinds of influences in their way of playing.

I am primarily a metal head but this guy is very good.

Big fan of Billy Mclaughlin myself. I first saw him play at Auburn while I was an EE student there. He did not have any record label at that time and pressed his own CDs which I did buy one (in storage somewhere now) after eating my 2 pizza slices and Diet-Coke (I lived on campus at that time and they gave out free concerts to those students and it was Winter and my last quarter at Auburn as I recall). A few years back, a neurological issue ended his career until he took matters into his own hands and learned how to play left handed. Every pro guitar player pretty much said that was an impossible thing to do, but Billy proved them wrong. His dexterous playing method reminds me of the Ops story so thought I would share some of Billy's talents. By the way, it was Helm's place that influenced me to buy his CD.

It's sad that he can't play the slow strum part simultaneously as plays the fast part. When he played, it was like hearing 3 guitarist play simultaneously; incredible. Still, the orchestrated version is cool and he still can play the fast part as you see here. Maybe, one day, his neurological problem can be cured.
