As most of you know, I have moved to Göteborg in Sweden to be with AnMal. I moved here on the 16th April 2015 and my 50th birthday was on the 22nd. I got some nice presents from AnMal but she had also packed a rucksack ready for Friday 24th and wouldn't tell me where we were going. Her parents and aunts had put some money into her account to buy me an Irish low D whistle and her brothers and sisters and their partners sent me a card saying they are going to take me to Kinnekulle later in the year to look at some ancient Swedish history. Friday came and we got on the bus, then later on the journey I was staring at some stunning scenery when the bus stopped and we got off. This was Marstrand and I was amazed that we were staying here. I took some photos then we caught the ferry to the island and started walking around. We walked up to the fortress and inside the walls but until we got to reception, I had no idea we were going to be staying the night in the fortress! I think we were the only guests as well and we had a key to the fortress gates so we could come and go as we pleased. It was a beautiful place and it was lovely being able to walk around the grounds at night and see the views. On the way back on Saturday we picked up the Irish whistle. It was an amazing birthday treat!!!

What an experience Erisian! What you say about your journey and everybody so kind to you is so nice. I'm very happy for you.

I'm very happy for both you and AnMal young man (*got you beat by a few weeks that is; just turned 50 myself. lol). These cobblestone captures look quite impressive by the way.
