I have over 50 folders that I'd like to store in one place on win10 desktop :gaah , does anyone have a suggestion what is the best free software to do this.

I don't know whether your underlying problem is a too crowded desktop.
If so, I may suggest to prepare a desktop bakground with a net which allows you to more easily detect where the link to your software is (you may place the links by software category).
Have a look at mine:

If still too crowded, you may use the Windows 10 feature of "multiple desktops" (not used personally so far).
