My son turned on his xBox and the tv blew up no one was hurt but the television was toasted.
Anyways my son is on Spring break for a week and no way was he going without a tv in his room without xBox. :lol
So i jumped on Craigs List and started searching. I ran across a listing for a 55 inch Toshiba for 150 dollars. I figured something must be wrong with it or it has most probably been snatched up already. So i called the guy just to see and no-one was home so i left a message.
Two hours later i get a call from the guy and he still has the tv!No kidding i couldn't believe it.So i get his address and go look at it.Here is an image of it in the ad.

So we get there the tv works excellent but alas will not fit in my 44 inch wide back hatch :lol
I ask the guy if he will use his truck to haul it to my house ill throw in an extra 20 dollars.
He agreed - and so now i have bought a very nice Toshiba 55 inch television for my living room for a grand total of 170.00 dollars :wh

My son was kinda bummed he got the 32 inch tv from our living room but oh well. :rofl

What a great deal though! :)

Yeah the guy told me that everyone kept trying to make a trade with him - fishtanks, other tvs...he just wanted cash and not very much.I couldn't believe Craigs List trollers didn't snatch it up for a re-sale.Easily you could get 500.00 for it.

Nice!

Picture doesn't work which is probably a good thing because it wouldn't fit on my screen. ;)

A definite steal, Rod.

I had a similar Craigslist scenario with an Oak China Hutch listed for 125.00. I swore it had to be particle board with oak trim facing (cheap version). The owner was an older lady, who was retiring from her job and moving, so she had to get rid of it, asap. She asked me to come look at it, she assured me it was solid oak. So, I went, and sure enough it was solid oak. The unit itself would retail for at least $1,200.00. I'm usually a skeptic, but there are times when you need to move against the grain of your skepticism.

Good instincts, Rod. :)

Wow. That is a great deal!
Why were the owners giving it away?

The guy had the TV for 2 years and bought a new one (wall hanging type).
Even he couldn't believe no-one wanted it for cash.He paid 2,000 dollars for it.
He knew he was giving it away but he got a huge refund and well...needed it off his floor LOl.
It had only been in the paper for 9 hrs when i called. But usually by then you get umpteen million calls on your item.I placed a pressure washer and a van in there and i got 30 calls the first hour or so.

Wow Mahvin you got a nice deal there. Those solid oak pieces are great.
I would love to find my wife a corner curio for all her prettys. :)
