Thanks, Pat. Plan on driving 186 miles to see my sister on Thanksgiving Day (and 186 miles back to home). I too hope all that celebrate a safe and enjoyable Thanksgiving Day.

I love your texteffect. Its a nice cross between the old bevelstyle and the new flat design.

How did you make it ?
Is it a single stroke font somehow extruded ?
Was it made with a script ?

The script used to create the extrusion is called 3D Extrusion.

3D Extrusion @ Gimp Scripts

I applied a dark gray to light gray gradient to a thin font.
Then ran 3D Extrusion on it.

The gradient I used is called CHROME.

The extrusion layer and the text layer were colorized to match.
With the thin text layer being adjusted using Color Curves,
To make it a bit brighter then the extrusion layer.

Two drop shadows were also added.
One as the "typical" drop shadow.
The another used as a green highlight behind the completed text.
