... because I spent all my free time documenting the old ones and making them a usable site on SourceForge: http://gimp-path-tools.sourceforge.net/

Comments, text review & suggestions welcome.

I'm wondering if I should start a contest here for a site banner. On the other hand if I get a new friend I can also get several enemies :-)

Cheers.

No enemies here, ofnuts. It's all up to GnuTux whether he's up to using a new site banner. I like the idea since we can at least make submissions for judging, without necessarily having to use it.

I don't mean a banner for GimpChat but for my stuff :-)

I don't see mapwrap in your list.

Banner: I like your sig. Have you considered using a variation of it? It showcases three of your GIMP tools.

Spelling/Typing: In the Neon-path description, first paragraph, last word: "phat" should be path. Also, second bullet under usage, middle of the paragraph: "furthermore" should be capitalized (Furthermore).

Global answer:

@mahvin: The content in 860px wide so that's the upper limit. The height and the rest are free.

@rod: very classy, and fits the color scheme

@bkh1914: The problem with my sig is that it clashes with the color scheme. Thanks for the corrections

@Oregonian: Wrapmap is on another project, it doesn't deal with paths... Your suggestion is very nice... but my name should be smaller than the rest and the black background will clash with the site. And I'll be stuck with the avatar :-) But a very serious contender.

My contribution:

I kept the xcf file in case you like it. I almost added a ribbon path effect (at least I thought to add one...)

A bit too much on the candy side for me :) Btw, what font is that?

It's the machine font used with neon. It's a reflection of all the plug-ins except ribbon.

Are you using any kind of source code control tools?

I ask because I'm mulling over Rod's request for a Gimp refresh button: viewtopic.php?f=9&t=1587&p=19837 and I was wondering about the format you are using for version number - is it automatically controlled and inserted by source code control so we could adopt it as a de facto standard. This would enable us to develop a tool to compare any particular script's version against the local copy.

Not for something as simple as these scripts. I'm not even using SourceForge source repositories since what people download is the source. Currently I have a link in my .gimp-2.6/plugins directory to the directory where I keep the stuff:

path-dump.py -> ~/Workspace/Gimp/GimpPath/python/path-dump.py

when I want to publish, I add a line of history in the header, then

cp path-dump.py path-dump-0.8.py
and off to Sourceforge.

Just did a general update to add some consistency to the scripts (menu placement). There are some functionality enhancements, but nothing to write home about (read the file headers...)
