Had to take a quick phone photo of this morning. Can't believe it is (almost) mid Winter and we are having such beautiful days.
Was wet last week but this week looks like it has gone back to our 'normal' dry. And because the sky was clear all night and today the cold didn't dissipate at all. Our ground never gets cold enough for hail to stay put here in Adelaide, South Australia, let alone snow. We have snow occaisionally in the 'hills' but even there it melts as soon as it hits the ground.

Nice clear sky. So far it's been a similar winter in Tasmania.

Saw some 'uplifting news'. Antarctica is rising 1.6" a year possibly because of melting ice.

Yeah both poles that is happening to I think. Not very good news for coastal dwellers.

How crazy were the people at the Antartica camps swimming in the water down there for the equinox?

They seem to do that in some of the coldest parts of the world and also here in Tas.

Yes and in Hobart (Tasmania), from the pictures aired on the news yesterday, they were all naked!!

Trivia. A Tas blogger (not me) went to the dawn winter solstice naked dip and discovered he had forgotten to register.
They wouldn't let him in so he has to wait till next year......
