What a day! It took me and Wallace all day to fix these bugs I had within Windows 10 that were in my laptop. Wallace and I had to do the most strange clean install of Windows ever. Glad I got my laptop back running smoothly. If you asked me how it was done, I couldn't explain but I bet he could. Anyway, I finally have my laptop back in working order. Thanks Wallace! I couldn't have done it with out you. :tyspin

Windows, an "OS"? Remember that the "O" is for "Operating"!

Good for you. It works well for some users, while others users can't stand windows.

For me compiling and developing on Windows is an absolute nightmare. It's as if they don't want anybody to do any devel on the platform. Actually they don't, they want users to buy software. :rofl

Wallace must be a wiz to fix your computer, maybe you have a spare chateau he could live in?

Considering,
that we did the entire clean installation via text messaging,
and (mostly out of focus) cellphone pictures.
We did really well.
Even though it took us literally all day to do it.

Also the fact,
that you needed to become familiarized with how the BIOS functioned.
Which was basically a mini How To Use The BIOS tutorial.
For someone who has never worked in this type of environment before,
you did extraordinarily well.

Doing the clean install in this way.
Was like looking through a pinhole,
to try and figure out what was happening around me.
There were a few hiccups,
but we managed to work them through.

I'm 100% sure,
that the system rebooted itself,
while you were away form the computer.
Which is why we seemed to be in an installation loop at one point.
Repeating previous steps,
during the installation,
that we had already completed.

I believe that most people would have thrown in the towel,
but you hung in like a trooper.
Helping to make this work.

I do feel,
that Windows 10 will always have issues.
Due to the new Microsoft operating system's model and
their decision to push updates out,
after using us (the public) as their OS guinea pigs.
What matters most,
is that we worked together to make this happen.

Like Wallace said, it took and day and we got through it. The most strange yet insane install I've ever experienced. I had never done anything like this and if I had done it alone, I probably would have tossed my laptop out my window in frustration. What does is done and I'm happy. I just hope that I don't have to do this again for a quite while. The programs I had on my PC had zero to with the bugs that were popping up and sticking on my laptop like glue. It's Windows.

Lets hope the next W10 feature update - 1809, due in October, goes smoothly.

If we'er going to use Windows.
All we can do is wait and hope it addresses the known issues from the last update.
Somehow I feel,
that there's always going to be issues,
no matter what they do.

That is also true, Wallace; which is why I have Firefox as a back up. However firefox has limited touch screen capabilities. I also thought about downloading HP coolsense but then I thought, I can just search Amazon for a cooling fan.

There may be a touch screen extension or add-on for FireFox,
that will give you this functionality with FireFox.
However,
you'll have to do a search for that.

I looked and the ones that were listed were outdated for the version of FireFox I have in regards to the touch screen extensions.

Yeah,
it doesn't look like there's anything that's current,
or works with the most recent version of the browser.

Did you make a complete image back up disk in case this ever happens again?

Good suggestion Pat625.

@mackenzieh
Perhaps you might consider getting yourself an External Hard Drive,
to back up your system and data on.
If not.
You can always create a System Image,
as per Pat625's suggestion.

I will probably get an external hard drive in the future and also create a System Image.
