I'd sure like to have these icons but they are Mac zipped icons. Is there an efficient way they could be unzipped and re-zipped in a zip format? There are 15 of them so it would be a lot of images to post.

If you can unzip them, send me a pm and I can give you my email address. They'd email much easier and faster than trying to post the pictures in here.

Another thought: If you can unzip them and put them in a transparent png image and upload the image. That would work.

Or unzip them, open them as layers into a transparent xcf file and upload that.

Well, I tried. I downloaded this file, and it has the extension .sit
I have no application that is able to open a .sit file. When I look at it in text edit, I can't make head nor heels of it. As far as I can tell, this isn't a zip file unless .sit means a zip file, and I cannot figure out how I would unzip it.

There is a popular utility on MAC called Stuffit (and stuffit expander). The free version for Linux I have is an older one and wouldn't properly extract that archive for me.

Looks like there is a free version of Stuffit Expander for Windows.

Would this work? Says it extracts .sit files.

I extracted it with Unstuff, but the files were blank. I think the files need to be opened by the program that created them.

Same with the Linux version I have. All the files were blank and I got a strange encoding error.

Were you using the latest free Window's version?


Says they support .sit files so they might. I know fileroller is kinda old but it might still work.

No, I was using Unstuff.

I offered a link to the ico files for Windows (I opened them in Linux, they are ico files). It's the same set of hearts.

I found some others I liked. They were in a psd file which I made into an .xcf file. They are in layers and will make nice brushes, too. I've attached the xcf file.

Wonder why it didn't work for that archive?

It might be outdated or that archive might be bad (seems unlikely). It would be nice to have a Linux utility that handled .sit files, for future use.

I even tried with the windows version of Stuff-it expander and it failed to recognize the contents.

Gentoo's repository carries stuffit.
I am sure ~all Linux distro's will have it.
It packs or unpacks.
Didn't install it myself,never needed it.

I can't find anything named stuffit in the Fedora repositories unless it's in there by another name. Don't know what to search for.

You can install the Stuffit RPM packaged by Mandriva in Fedora. It's 2 binaries (stuff and unstuff) with no dependencies so there is nothing Mandirva specific about it.

Or, you can DL the RPM, manually extract the binaries, copy them to your /usr/bin folder and make them executable (installing the RPM does all that for you but distros that don't use RPM can extract and install manually).

Well I got it open... but I have to change them all to jog or something and I have to run to work so I'll get back to it later after work
