Anyone here with Charter experiencing the same thing (or, God forbid, it's the entire Internet). Trying to get my Ubuntu updates now so I'm in Firefox typing this. lol

Just wanted to vent. :)

I seem to hit little pockets of Lag, yesterday DeviantArt was going really slow, and this site does it to me, from time to time too

A little better today, but still slow. Contacted Charter support and after a few checks they believe that it might be my modem. It is over 5 years old now. We rent, so, it should just be a matter of exchange. I'll see if it gets better or worse (signal strength and such is fine on both ends; ping test went well too, so my gut's telling me it's still a Charter server either being attacked, or there server might have some other technical issues causing issues). Anyway, at least I can type this message to you and browse. lol

:)

Well it wasn't Charter. I was my modem. Finally got off my lazy butt and replaced it (paying rent so it was as simple as getting an exchange). Went from less to 100Kbits/ to 13.3Mbits/s. Pretty dramatic to say to least. Only issue I'm having now is connecting with my XP VM (using my Ubuntu VM to type this). Going to try a few things, but figure I need to get my Ubuntu updates anyway, so will do that then try again with XP. lol

:)

Edit:

Threw everything and the kitchen sink at this one. I was using bridge connections option, but had to go nat (same as Ubuntu), but even weirder. Had to using another virtual adaptor (the one that I use for Ubuntu was either extremely slow or not work at all in XP; strange. No, I did not have Ubuntu running when XP was running; lol). Anyway, in the process, I did a repair and then a complete un-install/re-install of VB. What a headache. Just wanted to vent some more (but now all is well). lol

:)
