...unless someone can tell me what's going on

I have a 'smart' TV and a couple streaming sites stopped this afternoon. I thought I would check online and I cannot get YouTube online either.
Now I thought, what the heck I'll turn the TV off and back on later but twice now after turning it off it has turned itself back on  ! Why would it do this?

Hi Sallyanne,

I asked Google's AI:
A smart TV might turn on by itself due to several reasons, including external devices, TV settings, or remote control issues. Other possibilities include smart home devices, scheduled power settings, or even firmware updates.
Here's a more detailed look at potential causes:
External Devices:
Connected devices like HDMI devices can trigger the TV to turn on when they activate.
TV Settings:
Features like eco mode or smart home integrations can cause automatic power-ups.
Remote Control:
A faulty remote, sticky buttons, or dying batteries can send unintended signals.
Smart Home Devices:
If connected to Alexa, Google Home, or other smart home systems, voice commands or routines might be turning the TV on.
Scheduled Power:
A power timer or sleep timer might be set to turn the TV on at a specific time.
Firmware Updates:
Updates can introduce new features or bugs, including those related to power management.
Connection Issues:
A poor connection, like Wi-Fi, can sometimes cause the TV to turn on automatically.
Other:
It could also be a prank, a child sneaking to watch TV, or even a malfunctioning universal remote.

Personally, I'm not a fan smart devices. I don't trust 'em.
Cheers.

Smart Home Devices:

This has actually been an issue for me. Switching out batteries for the remote solved the problem.

Thanks for the replies. I got so upset with it I factory reset it. Stopped it from turning itself on. Had to cannect the internet etc again.
I didn't buy it, it was a gift so I thought why not use it ;)
Also, I may change the batteries in the remote, been a while since I have had it.
