Anyone interested?
You can d/l it here.
http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/apps/br229516
I burned it to a dvd and popped it into my box and rebooted.
I have a spare partition I wanted to put it on.
No dice,Windows will only install on the first disk.
And that is where I have my Gentoo main install.
So I made me a coaster lol.
Gerard.

Here no any interest to be a MS guinea pig

But i suppose should be possible with a little fiddling install everywhere

As example supposing i have a storage disk with sufficent space and a OS already installed there (anything should work )

1 enter in the Bios, to set the storage disk as the starting one (bad english here but you should get the point, is the same you will do to try a linux live CD )
2 to feel even more safe just remove the main HD
3) start the computer from the OS in the storage disk and install 8
4) copy 8 and paste in a new partition
5) now may be only issues with the MBR or how is called, i mean the OS is there but may be needed more fiddling to make Grub (or what you use to manage multiple OS ) able to start it

i believe it will work even if i don't wish to try

haha, PC, did you ever own Windows Vista or Windows ME? If so, newsflash, you were a guinea pig, and you paid Micro$oft to be one!

On the contrary thank to MS i had a discount on the computer price by accepting 7 pre installed
(the only laptop of equivalent quality sold without some MS OS pre-installed was much more expensive).

Windows may claim to be the most diffuse OS because pre-installed in almost all Notebook and netbook, the few that have not are less convenient as price at least here

Same for not all but many pre-assembled desktop...
basically you really chose and pay a extra price for Windows only if you build or order to assemble a desktop with your speciphic.

PS
once i asked in one of the bigger shop of the city if i could get a discount on a new laptop by make 7 removed before take out of the shop
reply was
-no discount, but if you don't want 7 i could remove for only 10 E extra fee- :rofl

PS
luckily i never had vista or ME only Xp and 7

Thanks for all the replies.
I could move Gentoo or try a VM but I consider that too much hassle.
Gerard.

That was funny.
Actually though Windows isn't that bad. :)
I got it free with my computer.Usually it comes free with pre-owned computers also.
Most new computer systems come with it free ,and installed at the store for you.

So i can't complain about the price.I am sure it's added in there somewhere with the hardware price tag.
Else how would Bill Gates be able to make more money than well...everyone?

yes and not
yes for the Computer company ,as HP, Dell , Toshiba and so on they have to pay for it
No for end users:
seldom the computer price is derived from its cost, i mean can't be lower but how much higher is decided by expert of marketing on the base of several factors (that is why the same thing may be priced let say 3000$ in a country and 4500$ in another, well are also other reasons as local taxes but the big factor is the prevision on the local market..
Too much rich South-Africans would get suspicious fearing 3000$ a too cheap price for a top level product ?
On the contrary too few brasilian will buy something so pricey ?
those are relevant factors to decide the price for the local clients)

on this the cost for a oem MS license may do no much difference

Instead the request for a laptop WITHOUT a pre installed OS may do a bigger difference
Less the offers for such unusual computer,so higher the prices
...so it will cost less search a good offer with MS pre installed and just reformat.. :rofl.

Again i am talking mostly about Notebook ,Netbook , special offers and 2nd hand Computer
