You paid for your Windows license, and a smartphone is just a small computer.

Come to think of it, with smartphones, Linux is becoming a more pervasive OS than Windows

In my family of 4, we have 9 Internet capable devices, with 2 Windows, 1 IOS, 1 WebOS, 5 Android, 3 Linux (there are some dual-boot machines in the lot).

I think paying for android like that would be like paying for the service packs in XP they are both rather major updates. and at the same time when I bought this phone I was not expecting to have to pay for updates but was very happy to read today that it was a joke lol.
