Saw this on another forum. Fantastic result, but I posted there why. Then I posted, who am I to judge; I pervert photos and turn them into fake paintings. lol

Those are really incredible Lyle. The look more like hi-res photos! Hard to believe they were done with a Bic ballpoint pen. If I had talent like that I sure as heck would not be a lawyer.

I've seen computer artist paint photo-realistic paintings from scratch before but not actually pen/ink on paper artists so, in that respect, that is pretty cool indeed.

She says artists in her country are not really appreciated so she couldn't make a living at it there.She didn't mention the country name.

I just want to know how many pens she owns...yes i asked her. :lol

Beautiful work though.Astonishing that it's all done with colored pens.I would guess the white area are transparent and just the paper color?I have never seen a white bic pen.

And I can't even draw a passable stick figure. I saw the one with the red haired girl yesterday and was both amazed and jealous.

She owns 8 pens and buys them at Office Depot.

She used 6 of the pens in a crosshatch style to create the Red Haired Girl piece.

Simply amazing. She is going to post a small tutorial later i guess.She did mention a technique she uses for blending which is just crosshatching the different colors so they blend in.I am still wondering how she gets the white in there. :lol

Simply amazing. I'm certainly no artist and probably have less talent than GMS, but I think that's one tutorial that will definitely get eyeballed a lot on this site, including by me.

sounds to me like she is using the pens in a similar technique as "Glazing" when using oils (which I have done Many years ago). With oils you get the color to be transparent and build up many many layers by painting on the previous layer after it drys. This results in colors getting "mixed" optically. The eye sees the colors glowing from underneath.

The fact that she got this effect from pens is damn impressive
