If there's one thing that should not only be trivial, but even the most familiar members of this forum, is the snow. You should see snow every year.
Have something to me is extremely unrealistic, or anything familiar.
I wonder what must have texture, and other things like ... Any flavor? lol
Snow for those who live in tropical lands :sun , seems something magical. :gotcha .

No Lyle, it isn't the packing kind. When it is below 32F, the snow is fluffy and not good for snow balls. Once it gets up a bit higher the snow gets very heavy and easy to make a snow man. I will send you some if you want.

Lovely stuff. We've had our share of the snow this year and it's already melted. It's not so much fun when it becomes compacted and icy though.

molly: ooooh lovely! now i envy you, right now we don't have any snow here, though the temperature dropped to below freezing point again. i was a bit suprised that you should be so much higher up on the globe than me and you still had warmer weather and no snow - that seems taken care of though :).
akros: snow is something magical. you wake up in the morning and the room has a special light in it. you don't even need to look out the window to know it's been snowing, the whole atmosphere changes.
believe it or not, but snow has sounds, textures, a scent and a flavour of its own. if you stand completely still in a snowfall in a place where there's no traffic and not too much other noise to disturb you and the temperature's low enough, you can actually hear the snowflakes when they land on the ground. and like molly said above, the snow will act differently depending on the temperature and other factors - sometimes the snowflakes will be big and they will cluster together as they fall and feel wet against your skin as soon as they land. other times, they will be small, and soft and downy and fall very gently and they will be cold but dry when they land and you will be able to brush them off with your hand without them melting. snow has a lovely, but very subtle scent. it smells clean and wet. you can't feel the scent of it if there's too many other scents around, though. on very cold days, the scent gets stronger and sweeter. if a snowflake falls into your mouth it will taste like an ice cream without the sweetness or richness of ice cream. it's very subtle, but once you start to know and recognise the flavour, you will probably love it.

AnMal, I guess the only thing that could be better, is if it just snowed in the yards and not on the roads and driveways.
I don't have to go out in it and can enjoy it just looking out the window, but for those that still go to work, it would be nice.

you are welcome, cool video alc. You must have a lot of wild (tame) life around your place.

Never snows where I live. In fact quite the opposite..I live in the area also which has recently been the subject of weather most foul in Australia...Fortunately my community of Hervey Bay was fairly unscathed compared to other nearby localities like Maryborough and Bundaberg. Bundaberg has lost a lot of its infrastructure as well...bridges down, no electricity, water, sewerage etc...all washed away after a fierce tropical storm which brought with it tornadoes as well..So while we have wild weather here, it never snows.

We probably don't get as much as you but we get plenty. It usually lasts about a week and then the usual English rain wipes it out.

At the moment I have a lot of stuff to deal with and a lot on my mind. I keep starting stuff and not finishing it. As soon as I have something finished I will post it.
