Griatch's character fanart contest (updated)

Hi folks,

I just announced a little deviantart contest which might be interesting also for some people here: The contest is described here and concerns making fan-art of my characters. Just for fun of course. To put me to work as well, the winner will get a return-fanart of any one of their characters. I will also try to comment and write deliberate critiques for those that want to have it. You need to be a member of deviantart to join, but that should hopefully not be much of a hindrance.

I've never done anything like this before, so I have no idea if there is any interest in this kind of thing. Will be fun to see what comes of it though!

UPDATE: The deadline has passed and the winner has been announced here!

awww, what a fun idea for a contest! i just don't do deviantart, but i'll be watching the results and i hope the winner has made something with my favourite character.

DeviantART is like Durham, NC. Most cities have a good part and a bad part, but Durham has little pockets of good and bad that are sprinkled throughout. DA is still pretty tame compared to a lot of other sites, though.

@AnMal, Moko: I was not aware that joining DA was controversial in any way? It's free, eventual adult themes can be censored and it's one of the best places around for feedback (it is after all one of the largest online art communities in the world). Is there some principal reason for not liking DA I'm not aware of?

@merrak Would be fun to see what you came up with if you did join up!

Lack of child safety I guess, both in comments and pictures, as the censorship is user-based instead of admin-approval, just like youtube (ok, youtube is really worse, especially in comments), all these websites where censorship come from the user have this flaw, they're essentially not safe for kids/teens.

The forums can get iffy, particularly "complaints". I've rarely used the chat rooms.
