I recently found out that the Richmond Concert Band will be playing music from the series "From the Earth to the Moon" July 4th. The reason this is important to me is that I worked on that series (visual effects) and have always loved the music. It has never been available on CD.

Several on line friends got in touch with this band, eventually they procured the music and will now perform some of it. If you happen to live in or near Virginia feel free to enjoy what will be a great show.

Since there wasn't any info about this show on their web site I asked on their facebook page and got this response:


"We will be performing the "main title" from that HBO series. The theme for the 1st half of our July 4th concert is "After the lights dim" -- that is, we'll be playing tunes from movies/shows. In addition to the one we've mentioned, we'll be playing tunes from Mission:Impossible, Lord of the Rings (Into the West (Annie Lennox)), The Rose, Somewhere in Time and several other movies. The 2nd half of the concert will focus on patriotic music. We are working to get our web site updated. It crashed a while back, and it has taken us longer than we wanted to get it back up and (more or less) functioning."

I find this quite exciting because this incredible music has Never been available on CD. I've Never understood That!!
