You are right Mike, that is a funny clip and I agree that Windows can be frustrating as heck. But I usually don't have that much trouble. I still run XP home and most bugs are gone.
I have the same frustration when I use Ubuntu and try to print, play a game, play a CD or DVD. Whilst I am unhappy with Windows , I grew up with it up from dos 2.1 upwards, win 3.0, 95,98 xp and I never learnt Linux well enough to really feel comfortable with it. I know it reasonably well.
I am currently thinking of upgrading to win 7 or seriously getting my teeth into Linux. It all seems so difficult to start all over again

Cheers wbool63

7 ,once done a little of customization is fine, but worth the change only if you have more Ram of what supported
(in theory there is also a 64bit xp but if you had to pay, it is better do for 7 )

About linux i just like it

, i may even use as was Windows , and since most of my favorite programs are multiplatform, everything is very familiar (once i know a program i may use in any OS )
But in case i have to do something requiring the brain switched on then Linux is really much more supportive then Win

I don't delete Win because was included in my laptop price and there are still some cool windows only app,

What was so sad that it was really so funny was that it brought back memories of how life was back when I had Windows opened and all the bugs came in. Just that error sound was enough to make me cringe.

Suffice it to say that I'm a Mint user, since Helena, and have tried many distros before and after. None have been so -- I don't want to say annoying, because I know many still use Windows faithfully -- irritating nor limiting as Windows was for me.

As for learning Linux, it is not so difficult. At least in Linux you have the ability to do things beside just looking dumbly at the bsod and paying outrageous amounts of money to have the system reinstalled or upgraded. It takes some learning, but everything that I have learned to do in Linux was things which I wanted to do in Windows but couldn't -- or wasn't allowed to do.

As for apps, Linux has a good selection of applications. Gimp, Scribus, Symphony, 2ManDVD, Audacity, OpenShot, WinFF -- to just mention a few. I've been able to do more with Linux than I was able to do with Windows. But that may have been because I didn't have to shell out thousands of dollars.

C'est la vie.
Long Live Linux.

Yes quite funny.
I don't have Windows on my box.
Been using Gentoo Linux for 7 years.
Installing is done by command line which makes for a smaller audience.
But the reward is high: A lean system where every program is compiled for your hardware.
From time to time I try other distro's.None are as good as Gentoo IMO.
Once installed upgrading is done by regular syncing with one of the mirrors.
The way your install is done you are "forced" to get familiar with your OS.
Documentation is excellent and the forum very helpful,no RTFM there.
Gerard.

I laughed so hard from this, and I also thought it was funny that it had "Order Food" and, "Crash" listed in the start menu.

I personally like Linux the best, cause 1 almost all the programs I use are cross platform, except Format Factory, Wax 2.0, bHTML, CamStudio, CamDesk, and Speccy.

On Linux I replace Format Factory with FFMPEG, and Wax 2.0 with either Blender, or Kdenlive (for different things), and I just use a text editor (gedit) and a web browser (FireFox) to do my coding, but once in a great while I'll use Kompozer, which is also cross platform. For screencasting on windows I used CamStudio, but on Linux usually use gtk-recordmydesktop, but I had a bunch of problems with it, I know I will definitely give Kazam a try though. (Hearing a lot of great stuff about it), as for CamDesk, I've been working on developing it for Linux, and it's a big project.

I just found this app called iTouch for windows, and it gives the illusion each time you click you're touching the screen.

I agree with nixnine though I will still keep my windows machine cause my laptop came with it, but I have a spare hard drive, and once my optical disk drive gets fixed I'll be putting Ubuntu 10.04 on that unless 11.04 is released at the time.
