OK; will premise this with I will not share the raw file or even original image to hide some embarassment. lol

I tried some online tools and, even the bots suck. I used wavelet decompose in creative ways to refocus as best I could and then some cleanup work then added some fake fur selectively (disaster; lol).

Below's the original crop:

This is my effort. Hope you can do better since, well, mine result still sucks. He's extremely hard to capture staying still and my pore VLUX-1 is showing it's age. The battery won't even last more than a few shots before it dies and have to recharge. lol

Don't have a smartphone and the camera from my flip sucks very badly so that's not an option, either, so have to make due with the tools I have at my disposal. Anyway, enough of my spiel. :)

I was hoping Rodilius might give him some extra fuzzy (unless I didn't use properly) but it didnt so I just stuck with gimp

The trick I used was first run the wavelet decompose plugin (not sure where I got this one; it's been around for quite a long time now). I chose the layer that refocused the best and set it to Grain Extract instead of the the default grain merge and the duplicated to get the sharpness that I desired. Did a great job with the fur but not so much the eyes. Felt the fur was way too sharp so smoothed it out a bit using anisotrophic smoothing (G'MIC). Did a few other things mainly cloning/healing brush work as well as noise reduction. Even so, the eyes really suck; wish I had a good pair to replace them, but then it wouldnt' be Mittens eyes. lol

He's a stinker that I should have named Sonic since, like the hedgehog, he books it all over the place. lol

Took this image a few hours ago; he's about 2.5 to 3 times heavier than when I first got him. He's growing fast, but still has a lot of growing to do. He eats like a horse unlike my girl who's now a nibbler. :)
