A lovely photograph!
My try with your original - very similar approach. I blurred the background, but also slightly darkened and desaturated.
Slight "tweaking" with curves on the foreground to try and bring out the wing structure. Sharpened using wavelet decompose.

Dinasset the focus is even more on the dragon fly with your interpretation. I like it.

David your outcome shows the sunlight even better and the wings look like glass. Thank you.


I was surprised such small insect 3-4 cm would show up so well on the photo.
And with the sunlight reflected on the body it looked so glossy in real.

Diego, I thought the photo could best be edited with a filter. I like the Warhol look.

The Warrior, did you use a filter or made you the changes by manipulating the settings?

Just a few of Diego's filters with some of my own manipulations extra

If I remember correctly, I duplicated the layer. On the top layer, I ran it through GMIC, details>local normalization, then details>simple local contrast. On the bottom layer, I ran it through the exaggeration filter, stock settings. I then set the top layer to some mode, but I don't remember which one, perhaps overlay.
