Dinasset, Congrats for your beautiful results on each photo. Your indications applied on each one are really great help for us all. Thanks. :)
Pat, nice you are in this thread too. I'll do my try on your pic. :)

Twenty-ninth image (the last one for now)
Pat's old car.
Both enhancements shown are nice.
Because I had the g'mic filters set up for the last image processed. I did more or less the same with this one.
Nothing really appealing/interesting for the readers of the thread, just to see how it could come out.
Here it is

Thanks, my friend, for your nice words !
I hope to contribute to photo enhancement interest in the gimp-chat arena.
So far, the contributors (providers of images) were not too many....but there are very interesting contributions (in the enhancements applied)!

Here there are two more photos for you all play. One of them is really difficult, I think. The real photos are too big to post here, so I reduce the size.

Pat, I can't compete with Dinasset's result, so I got your car in Black and White (better said it's in grey colour) and applied contrast too.

Issabella,

Two beautiful photographs!
My attempts.
First one, cropped, some sharpening with a G'MIC filter, reduced opacity and blended with original.
Second one. I separated foreground and background so that I could operate on each independently. Background, reduced brightness and saturation.
Foreground, the opposite.

david.

I agree with David, very nice photos, and two challenges.
Here my tries (approaches are very similar):

30th image:
1-select FG
2-mighty details (25,1.6,30,2) on dup and mode softlight
3-select BG
4-gaussian blur
5-applied nuance "écru" (#C2B280 = 194,178,128)
6-on visible made a selection and run glass frame using etching (reduced influence to 30%)
7-made a cut of the image

here the outcome:

31st image:
1-select FG
2-mighty details (25,1.5,25,2) on dup and mode softlight
3-select BG
4-gaussian blur 8
5-applied nuance "bronzo antico" (#75663F = 117,102,63), reduced opacity to 80%
6-dup, invert luma, softlight
7-on visible made a selection and run glass frame using etching (reduced influence to 50%)

here the outcome:

Great to see you joining in on the challenges.

Simple process, but...more freedom in modifying the look !
On a DUP layer, applied the gradient Skyline (radial), then set mode to Multiply at 90%
A small cut on the top part.
Here the outcome:

(the "way" was an invitation for such or similar transformations...)

Beautiful both images, but the second one is so innovative that it's really awesome. :) :coolthup

Thanks, sometimes a photo may have an "invitation" to be extravagant.

I guess it's time for me to post one of my images, unprocessed, to see all the "interpretations" from the gimp-chatters who partecipate to this "game".
Up to you....

Thank you Dinasset. It has been a great challenge for me. I got this, not sure if I applied the right filters on it.

@dinasset,

A tricky image - the dynamic range is enormous!
I decided to attack it with luminosity masks, which I found necessary to adjust.
I have also scaled it, because my internet speed is lower than normal today and never very fast.

Thanks Issabella, thanks David.
Two interesting outcomes, almost at the opposite end as far as colour intensity/contrast is concerned.

Something inbetween? (but I'm not happy with my first try)
