G'MIC Film Emulation Preset

As many of you probably know by now I like to restore older photos. I was given this one to make look a bit better. I didn't do much as it looked ok to me , just a bit under exposed) so I tried a GMIC preset and it did this

I think it looses a bit too much of the atmosphere of the original. Maybe blend the original for 30% or something with the new one. It is quite an improvement though. :bigthup

That I could do. What suprised me was it seemed to bring out all the colour I didn't think was there and the correct colours too.

I simply used my filter WhiteBalanceStretch2, in default mode.
I guess you have it among my filters.

Dinasset: I do have it but it wasn't working properly. I found that I had more than one copy. Deleted one, now working perfectly! I used it on Sallyanne's photo and it duplicated your results, setting on moderate. I'll use this filter more often! Thank you.

Yes, indeed it did quite a nice job on the color front!
