Just noticed that i missed it but last month the Mypaint team released their new version, 1.2.0 :

And for window users like me the big new with that new version is this one has the 1st window official release since 2011 : Mypaint 1.2.0 beta073 that can be downloaded there :

Now that said, at the time i write that both the win32 and win64 versions are affected by a bug that makes them basically unworkable : laggy brushes strokes, the bug is reported there :

So if you want to give it a try and are using windows OS , at the moment , i recommend to download the latest build from :

his latest is mypaint-1.2.0a (or his less recent but still working mypaint-1.1.1a )

Latest of his build is nearly the same as the official version (only half a month of difference ), excepted that it is NOT having laggy unworkable brushes, from my quick tests today it run actually very well, nothing in common with the "official" version.
Additionally, unlike the "official" version, it's not an installer, so just extract where you want and launch the program.

Hopefully once they'll fix that problem all will be well for window users with official support again, Mypaint is such an awesome piece of painting sofware that it deserves a place on any artist hard drive.

Would like to add that in January Mypaint 1.20 reached its "stable" release, no more in beta version.
And it was compilled by tumagonx with a slightly older GTK version than the beta versions were using, and as a result from my tests the very bad brush stroke lag on windows is no more !

Though i don't have a tablet and only use my mouse, can't confirm the lag has disappeared on tablet. But it is sure not there with my mouse anymore.

So if you want to use a new MyPaint version on windows, this is the version you should get :

Maybe this version will work for me.
