Not sure why GBoGBo haven't shared this cool program with us here yet; he PMed me on another matter and included link to a video that uses Verve. This program's one of the most powerful painter program that I've ever ran across. No painter I am (sorry for my example; lol) but still it's pretty cool especially with fluid dynamics. Can add layers and such as well. It's only around 300K in size (no joke) and it's stand alone and self contained. Just wish I was an artist; am not. Maybe the artists here (Griatch or Erisian) can play and do this program some justice. lol

Oh lordy I'm on the wrong computer right now. Hope it likes my other one. That looks like somebody bred GIMP to The Powder Toy.

Well, I cranked up the Windows muscle-machine today and got RAM-fail, RAM-fail, RAM-fail, so fun had to wait until after lunch and some hardware wrestling. [sigh] But it works, by gum.

This was my first experiment with layers, with lots of liquid fun:

Finally, I tried to get a little more control, but not very successfully:

I'm still trying to figure out what the controls do; everything goes south on me and my brush seems dry. I need to acquire more keyboard commands -- like, is there a "WHOA!" key to stop the mad swirl before it goes too far? OY! It is fun, though. I just wish the controls were less mouse-intensive.

Below's a link the controls, but I actually had some fun figuring out a few on my own Matera. lol

I would love to play with this but Windows refuses to install it. Thanks for the link though Lyle.

Again, it's not an installer Erisian; it's a self contained program. You have to have a computer no older then 4 years as I read on the guy's website. It heavily uses GPU on your graphics card as well. That might be the issue. Tried running it in my XP VM but it wouldn't run, but I don't recall what the error was. Still, it wasn't a memory violation. :)

Hello All,
I am a Verve user for several months, this great and unique freeware from a guy called Taron.
I confirm that you need a real graphic card (not intel HD), preferably Nvidia.
Don't hesitate if you have questions.
Regards,
GBoGBo

I agree; wish I was a painter. Would like to see some of your results GB; I only toyed with it some (and didn't do any justice with this gem since I'm not a painter). :)

Well i'm not a painter neither, the main reason being that I can't draw without tracing the main features from some reference image, but I have fun !
As a new user of gimpchat I am not allowed to post full links, so you will see my best attempts if you go to gbogbo deviantart com ;-)
In www taron de/forum on the other hand there are some real artists, one of my favorites is borhani59 (go to Galleries -> Your Artworks -> borhani59's sketchbook)

regards
GBoGBo

Amazing Lyle, I don't know yet if it is compatible with Linux but it sure looks like a fun app for making some pretty nice landscapes.

I tried to download it and it didn't work. Do I have to be a forum member or something??

No Moko; it does, however, require a modern graphics card (within the past 3 or 4 years at the oldest). It's extensively GPU and not CPU. If you have a compatible graphics card, you will be amazed at how quickly it paints and how it miraculously look like you are doing so with real paints. My jaw literally dropped when I first started to "paint" with it. :)

I tried it on my primary laptop, but it didn't work because I've only got an Intel graphics card for it.

Then I tried it on my Vista desktop, which has an NVidia card, but the performance was below average. The Vista desktop is from the late 2000's, so the hardware obviously doesn't cut the mustard.

I couldn't create anything presentable because of the performance. Seems very impressive anyway. Reminds me a bit of Artrage.
