Image This what I am mucking around with in Blender3d 2.79. I am trying to get to grips with an addon for Blender called HardOps. Consequently I haven't been Gimping much although I did download Gimp2.10. I installed it as a Flatpak I think. It,s confusing as I have two Gimps in menu and don't know which one is which until I open it. It hasn't got a Gmic either.

Usually people who maintain more than one version make use of "portable" packages (like Samj's or Partha's). Those are identifiable. Otherwise you have to change yourself the name of the links which you use.

@kimba:
you're on linux, right?
I have both, too: the old GIMP 2.8 via ppa and GIMP 2.10 via flatpak.
To solve the problem that they both look alike in their icons I've just changed the one of the flatpak in the menu entry. Now I can easily distinguish both versions.
Shall I attach my changed icon? Nothing great ... just colour changed.

I played around with blender a few months back. I used it to make my signature, among other things. It's a very complicated program and I haven't used it since. I probably forgot everything I learned by now, but I'm a fast learner and should pick it up quickly if I need to use it again.

G'mic won't work with the flatpak. You can use the latest Gimp in an AppImage which includes G'mic: https://github.com/aferrero2707/gimp-ap ... 4.AppImage

Thanks all. I will probably try the AppImage as not having Gmic is a downer although I don't really like having programs on the Desktop.

You can put the shortcut in your regular menu. I believe it asks that when you first launch the AppImage. I always say no, because I like my shortcut on the desktop.
