For the lightweight software (just under 45 MB) it is packed with features!
That's what the description says:
TwistedBrush has more than 5,000 brushes, along with all the features that artists love to use: layers, realistic media, photo cloning, tracing, masks, particles, filters, script recording, scripts to AVI, drawing tablet support, brush shapes, patterns, textures, integrated scanner support, image brushes, drawing guides, reference image views, dirty brushes, scratch layer, dynamic palettes and a whole lot more.
I have installed and test-run it going through the menus. It's primarily focused on drawing, but it can work with images too. That's what is not mentioned but worth mentioning for sure:
CameraRAW support Adobe filters support Script play (PS actions analogue?) Time lapse recording of painting!!! Blob Surfacer (3D brush modeler) with brush control settings: bristle size, mirror horizontal/vertical, symmetry, etc. The Solutions menu (interesting features there: Background removal, Borders, Frame-builder, Boxes and Folds, Fake HDRs, Special effects, etc.) Tutorial mode! Brush code import/export!
I just scratched the surface. Of course, 30 minutes isn't enough to check everything out, but what I've seen already is enough to say - it's worth installing. At the very start brush strokes seemed to be lagging a bit, but as I went on it was just fine.
It's just unbelievable, so many features and artistic presets for such a lightweight application!
Thank you, steeno! I check GOTD website once a week or so but would have definitely missed this one!
