Scribus 1.4.2 Released, it's not a major release.
  • true cross-platform spell checking
  • 64-bit version for Microsoft Windows
  • documentation updates and more...

While your there have a look at Gimp and font related docs.

Cheers Odin. How does Scribus rate next to Open Office Drawing?

Scribus is not a drawing program, OpenOffice Writer would be closer. Scribus is for layout and publishing like, Adobe InDesign or Microsoft Publisher. Scribus works well with Gimp.

I wouldn't call OO drawing a drawing program either - it's also for layout and publishing. I'm lucky to have found a copy of Serif Page Plus in a charity shop for £5 so I usually use that but I like to play with any good Open Source software as well.

I would give Scribus a go, it's very powerful for many reasons.
