As you know, Adobe recently announced as a great new feature the filter "camera shake reduction".
I wanted to know what exactly does that filter and what is the main difference with other filters we have in GIMP (or G'MIC) such as sharpen and refocus.
I have seen demonstrations on YouTube and apparently they only use blurred or out of focus photographs. I wonder if the filter really correct a moved photo which shows unwanted duplicated images or ghosts.
The idea is to try to reproduce in GIMP what that filter does.

Feature will be available in CC7 (CS7 cloud) only and it's not up yet until June 2013.
What it does is pretty obvious but how it does motion blur reduction could and most likely be a subject of
know-how protection.

It is caused by 3D rotation of the camera.
If Gimp had a plugin like MatLab.

In my opinion it will be best used for forensic applications such as license plate de blurring and the like. It really doesn't work all that great. I believe the way it works is that it takes the raw pixel information of camera rotation direction and maps it back to focus.Possibly moving the pixels back together this way making the image a bit clearer or more focused. Letters on a moving plate or focusing blurry robbers on video tapes would look pretty clear with this app. I wouldn't use it for much else.

I seem to have gotten some pretty decent results and it does have preview.

Thank you very much Rod, this plugin looks very interesting. It has good configuration options but is very slow. Perhaps someone could take care of the code and make some improvements.
