More good news for blender heads.
After adding 3D printer support another big thing is up. New Stereo 3D branch called multiview!
I had trouble building it from the git in Mingw-w64 environment (multi-cam support seemed to be buggy
causing Blender to crash so very often)
But it's fixed now and you don't have to build it!
New Multiview branch of Blender is in official daily downloads http://builder.blender.org/download/

What it does?
Most of you are familiar with how 3d stereoscopic movies are made. Every scene is shot with two
parallel cameras, videos get post-processed with chromatically opposite color filters (usually red and cyan)
and you can watch it with anaglyph 3d glasses.

New branch of Blender allows to shoot scenes for animations from 2 or 3 cameras and store it in one .EXR file.
Later on respective post-processing in Blender will be added. ATM you have to do it externally.
Now you can watch your own Blender-made HQ videos on your TVs or computer monitors with 3d support.

Very interesting. Blender is developed at tremendous speed!

Thanks also for the download link. This build includes pre-compiled CUDA kernel and I can use GPU compute without installing CUDA Toolkit on Linux (Kubuntu-Ubuntu 12.04).

You're welcome, YAFU!

I get my Blenders from graphicall.org, very rarely from Blender.org.
They have all kind of branches and flavors there, CUDA, Open Shading Language, OpenML,
you name it. For example, Freestyle build was available there long before the official 2.67 version.

And all those builds have contributors script folder with most useful and interesting 3rd party addons.
You probably know that you can have as many versions of Blender on your computer as you want and
run them independently? Blender runs from any place on your drives, doesn't have to be in Programs
folder.

I had already tried with some GraphicAll builds, but I had had some problems with missing libraries (on Linux). What I can do is extract the addons.
And yes, you can have multiple instances and different versions at the same time, which is cool!
