Due to a couple of great comments, I decided to revise the Metal Wurx XXIII tutorial for creating a Control Lever. viewtopic.php?f=23&t=5310 You will find that the last third of the tutorial has been completely rewritten with all new screenshots and a new PDF placed in the resources folder so if you downloaded the first one you need to replace it.

I just flat out got in a hurry and made some grave errors so if this has caused anyone any greif or serious head scratching, please accept my most sincere apology.

Thanks guys. I have been working feverishly (not) trying to completely redo the Indicator Light tutorial. I have the first two segments finished and am working on Part C now. All new screenshots and lots of tweaks but I think it will be worth the effort to get it right. Uploading that monster will be a chore all by itself.

Once I get it finished, I have a surprise for everyone. Stay tuned to the Draconian channel.

If you do it a bit at a time and keep saving it, it doesn't seem as long. There are 40 steps, so I just did 10 at a time.

molly: i will give it a try one of these days (i always learn heaps from draconian's tutorials) and i think i'll do it in steps like you did.

Good job Molly. The drop shadows on the shaft and the handle don't seem to quite line up and it looks like the fuzzy brush you used at the top of the shaft to make the shadow was way too small to get the right effect. All in all, it looks great. The long complex tuts require the user to really read carefully and pay a lot of attention to detail. They are also a real b..ch to write. I've been working on the bat switch tut for almost a month now and I still don't have everything like I want it.

AnMal - Remember the first time you jumped off the high board at the swimming pool? How bad could it be? You have one heck of a lot of people here including your faithful knight to help you out if you get into trouble. I say go for it. With your skills I have no doubt you can handle it. The point is to have fun learning to do new stuff, it's not a contest. I've got your back, sis.

draconian: hey, thanks for all the encouragement! i should be ashamed of myself if i didn't make a try after this .

edit: i did it, i did it ! here's my pink control lever - if your life doesn't hold enough pink, just pull the lever down - you could of course also reduce the amount of pink by pulling it up, but who would want that?!


actually it wasn't as hard to do as i thought. i got a bit lost for a while but that was because i had to try and tweak it a bit. when i gave that up and just followed the tutorial it was no problem at all.
