jas45: that ombré text with the addition of some concentric lines looks really good!! it's so much fun to get creative with a text effect .
2-ton: very well done on the silver text!! it looks great, and it's inspiring to see what you can cook up by adding different techniques to your own ideas . and of course i love that pink shade of the glow...

OK, I know it's time to quit with this effect, but when Esper mentioned using more than two colors, I took that idea to extremes.
Actually, the gradient is only two shades of amber and one of red, and those are the only colors in the image. But then I decided to drag the gradient several times in 'Difference' mode, and it looked interesting (to me anyway) so I decided to post just one more.

And Esper, I just wanted to say that every second you put into your blog is appreciated.

Esper: Actually, I got them with an alpha curve... sort of 'half-round' shape. I thought on this fat font they would look good that way.
