Ella Louise, Pat625 and Issabella - lovely results and have we not come a very long way from those 'brumbies in the bush'

OK, now this is it for colouring/tinting the glass, there are so many other GIMP things I want to try. In my previous post I also completely forgot about GIMP>Colorize so I tried a few more images today -

Standard as per the original tutorial -



Then with some colour tinting of both the gull and the life bouy -



Then with the top most glass layer for both gull and life bouy having been 'colour inverted' but still left in burn mode, to get a more subtle darker glass -



... by the way in each case the 'highlights' for the gull were also colour inverted and duplicated to give it a darker outline.

OMG, I haven't had enough time to test what were your steps, only a test and it wasn't good. I'll try it again. I like your last outcomes in colourful clear glass, they are very good. Thanks for sharing.

Thanks to all of you for your comments. I like Issabella's concept that we all are a "team". We do help each other and share tips to improve. I like that.

My sons both played "little league" as children and watched a lot of major league baseball. Baseball is starting around here now that Spring is supposed to be here. Its colder now than before Spring! I found myself hearing that song in my head all day after I finished that image!

OMG, I'm not satisfied with my result and less if I compare it with yours. But I did what I was able.

Trying to create ice effect, but I only get clear glass. So here it is my clear glass on ice.

I really had trouble with this one. Difficult to get good clean highlights. I think it was a little too busy. Oh, Well. Here it is.

2-Ton: I'm using Windows 7 with Gimp 2.8.14. It is under Filters/Light & Shadows/SuperNova. If you have Dinasset's Frame script, it also has a SuperNova in it as one of the choices. With that script it is called "Gradient Flare".
