Also Windy, you might have a black thing on your downloads that looks like a foreign file or something...have a look at my screenshot you sill see what it should look like on there...you might have even trashed it thinking it was something you cant use...

the link you used previously is correct but there are multiple links on there...you need to get the one for your OS.

here http://sourceforge.net/projects/gmic/files/

yes but for 32 or 64 bit?

most probable is http://downloads.sourceforge.net/projec ... r=leaseweb

in case your mac and gimp are on 64 bit should be instead this

http://downloads.sourceforge.net/projec ... irror=mesh

sorry for such long link but i believe you need direct link to the file

This is possibly going to sound silly, but I have OS 10.5.8 - is that a 'Leopard', 'Snow Leopard' or some other kind of animal?

(only half tongue in cheek, btw!)

I can't see which I need.

Hmm, in preferences, I deleted all but the gmic-gimp plugin and now basically the tools have vanished.

enter again in gimp Edit/preferences/folders/plugin
there click the "reset" button (at the left of OK ) and then OK.
that will give all the plugin back (after restarting gimp)

You should add (clicking first on "new folder" icon) not edit or delete path (except of course in case are wrong, but the first 2 paths should not be changed...well at least the FIRST path should not be removed, or gimp will not found anymore its own default plugin (scrièpt or whatever)

Windy looking at your GIMP folder there, you dont seem to have folders for any brushes or gradients palettes patterns scripts etc...I am wondering where they are and if we are looking in the same part of the computer for the correct items.

Hmm, and this is what it looks like now. It should be ok, but there's something not quite right.

Ok, what about this?

You can see now, I hope, that the Devices section of the mac does not show Gimp at all in the Application Support folder. Under my user login, there is App Support for Gimp, but it's obviously not the correct one.

Can anyone see what it is I have to do to make this sort out, please?
