alonte, that pdf is in with the download. If you read the tutorial you will see the things you need first before you start it. In with that stuff is the pdf.

Good job Mike! I like when folks change things up. If you use either Curves or Levels to lighten up the rivets a bit they would match the metal plate a bit better. Other than that it's perfect and I like the color choices and background as well.

I'm having a problem where the Curves Presets aren't showing in the menu. Maybe I'm not putting them in the right folder.

I don't use a preset to adjust the curve. I only use my presets when I'm making a variation of chrome or other metallic finish. This is the drop down menu where I have saved all my presets. I assume this is the menu you are referring to.

You probably already know this but it bears repeating for those that don't. Just place your cursor in the very middle of the curves dialog and just click and hold to drag the line at a 45 degree towards the top left corner a little bit until you like it. You can also create any kind of curve you like and if you want to save it, you have to click on the little plus icon just to the right of the drop down menu at the top, then just name your curve preset and click OK.

Are you saying that you already have some saved presets and now they are not showing up? Is that the issue?

Correct. Your presets from the Metal Wurx series, to be specific.

Did you save them to your xxxuser folder? Don't know what OS you are running.

Gimp 2.8.2 on WindowsXP ... I find that if I load an existing xcf file GIMP isn't loading a bunch of scripts, gradients, etc.

If I open GIMP first, then load an xcf file it appears to load everything properly. Not sure if this is a GIMP issue or an issue with my computer.

Hmm. That's weird. Never had that problem with 2.6.12. I have not worked much with 2.8.2, been putting it off. I have Lyle syndrome. I'm too lazy.
