Thanks for the tutorial! I've had GIMP for about a week now and really enjoy it! The tutorials are great and easy to follow! Here is my rendition of the spinning world.... I also found a couple of other scripts to add an animated background.

Very nice syn. You need to have the globe spinning from right to left though to have the text read left to right.
