I recently lost my hard drive and along with it nearly every GIMP tutorial I had completed up to that point ...
I've recently started over with the tutorials and this one looked like it had possibilities, meaning even I couldn't screw it up too badly. :mrgreen:

Very nice tutorial. Thank You for sharing ... I'm working, or rather redoing, the entire Metal Wurx series. Unfortunately, I am finding some of the plugins and filters don't care for GIMP 2.8.2 ...

Hmm. Don't know why Drawable Multiplication doesn't work but you know what to do for a work-around. Old school Duplicate/Move down/Offset, over and over till you get it. I'm surprised about the Selection Bevel since it is a Python script. You can still get some similar effects using the Python Layer Effects Bevel and Emboss filter. Just takes some getting used to. If it works in 2.8.2. of course.

You might try sending dd a PM and ask about compatibility for 2.8.2 and Selection Bevel.

For the Drawable Multiplication you would need to contact [email protected] and find out about the compatibility.

Are you running a 64 bit system or 32? Not sure but that may have something to to with it. Maybe the Gurus here can help. Try posting in the help forum. Worth a shot anyway.

The system that blew up was 64 bit. This one is 32 bit and 12 years old ... One thing about GIMP is that if it's a script it was something done with manual steps first. It does, however, involve one inordinate amount of guessing sometimes as to exactly how an effect was achieved. I'll definitely inquire as to the scripts. It could be something I'm doing incorrectly.

I am so glad I worked through these tutorials, thank you so much Draconian, proper tuts, not step guides, I learned a lot. I made my microwave, I know the lighting needs work, but I'm a work in progress and happy.

Thank you for your positive comments. I made a banner for Gimp Learn and knowing what font 'nuts' you guys are I thought I'd post this example here it's called entangled (BRK)
