Erisian, coming from you, I'm humbled. Thank you for the tutorial. For the trouble with outlines I think if we select the layer, shrink a bit, invert and apply a gaussian blur to it, we'd probably get rid of the edge or at least blur it...right? Will have to give it a try.

I plan to revisit this tutorial every once in awhile. I really love it and Erisian did a good job on the tutorial. Here is this year's attempt:

Nice one Pat. I'd love to give a tiger a big hug but it's a bit scary! I could perhaps have made an easier tutorial if I had included G'MIC but my thinking at the time was that it would be better not to include third party filters so that everybody could do it. I think everybody has G'MIC though. Maybe I will rewrite it one day, who knows?

Right now, I think just leave it alone unless you have a burning desire to include G'MIC. I love this tutorial and will always revisit!
